Listed in alphabetical order. Characters that appear in more than one book will have an (*) before the character's name.

Aunt Martha: Julie's Aunt in Journey to Julie's Heart.  She comes to stay with Julie and her father when Julie's mother dies.

Crystal:  She is a purple unicorn.  Whisper befriends her thinking they could be best friends, but all in all Crystal wasn't very pleasant.  Whisper's Secret Dream
*Dorian: A wise and all knowing dragon and friend to Whisper.  He was blue and pink with yellow wings. He is mentioned as being one of Whisper's best friends.  Dorian always seems to be around to save the day.
Duck family (Mama, Papa, ducklings):  Whisper rescues Mom and Papa Duck's eight baby ducklings in Rescue in Rainbow Forest.
Falco:  He was an evil wizard who tried to harm Whisper and Dorian.  Curse of the Dragon.
Flora:  She was a deer friend of Whisper.  Trap of the Hunter.
*Grandmother Bear: The kindly, grumpy old bear who wore spectacles.  She was considered another one of Whisper's best friends, and frequented several different books in the series.  She likes to cook.
Greenway:  A rainbow colored unicorn who was master of the harvest in Whisper's Mysterious Adventure.  The other master of the harvest, Sunflower, was with her.
Hunter, the:  Tries to hunt Whisper and Flora in Trap of the Hunter.
Jeremy the Skunk:  Woodland Friend in Cry of the Wolf.
Julie:  A girl that Whisper befriends in Journey to Julie's Heart. Julie has just lost her mother and Whisper aides her in her time of need.   
Julie's dad (Dad): Julie's father in Journey to Julie's Heart.  He is a veteranary doctor who helps Whisper with a broken wing.
*Jonathan and Bixby:  Whisper's two rabbit friends who appeared in several books in the series.  They are both male rabbits.  Bixby is much more common in the book series than Jonathan, still, often they are both mentioned together.
Kim: Julie's new friend in Journey to Julie's Heart.
Moonstone:  A white unicorn who was master of the bright waters in Whisper's Mysterious Adventure.
*Phineas: A man called a Nodkin, which was a race of people.  He was a little balding man who everyone always went to when things got bad.  Another wise one and another one of Whisper's best friends.  He was also called a Morg or historian.  
Ralph: Julie's dog in Journey to Julie's Heart.  Ralph finds Whisper when she breaks her wing, and stays with her in the barn.
Roscoe: Julie's horse in Journey to Julie's Heart.  Whisper turns Roscue's brown coat white and hides in the barn to foil Tut Tuttle's plan to expose her.
Simon the Woodchuck:  Woodland friend in Cry of the Wolf.
Starlight:  Sundance's sister.  Whisper's Lonely Heart.
Sheriff Billings: The sheriff of the rural town in which Julie lives  in Journey to Julie's Heart.
*Sundance (or Whisper's Golden Friend):  Referred to as Whisper's "special" friend, appeared in at least 2 Whisper books.  He was a golden winged unicorn.  Whisper's Golden Friend, Whisper's Lonely Heart.
Sunflower:  A rainbow colored unicorn who was master of the harvest in Whisper's Mysterious Adventure.  The other master of the harvest, Greenway, was with her.
*Tommy the Turtle:  Appeared in at least 2 Whisper books.  He is a friend of Whisper's.
Thorn:  Villain.  He is the dragon creature that stole the Rainbow Treasure.  Whisper's Rainbow Treasure.
Tut Tuttle: Julie and Whisper's antagonist in Journey to Julie's Heart.  He's the nosey mail carrier who tries to take a photograph of Whisper.
*Whisper: Heroine of the book series.  She was a winged unicorn with rainbow hair and feet.
